  • Look Inside

We developed a new method of flicker perimetry by showing a blinking target on the screen of a personal computer. The 20 Hz target is shown on 9 points corresponding the fixation point and 8 points along the four meridians. The data are expressed as temporal modulation threshold (TMT) . The threshold was measured by a method of limits and a constant method. One eye of a 40-year-old healthy volunteer was evaluated. By the method of limits, there was a difference in the TMT between the descending and ascending process. It was difficult to obtain reproducible data because of the limitation in computer performance. Use of high-quality computer promises to make this method a clinically applicable one.
