網膜前増殖膜構成細胞におけるTGF—β受容体の発現

Expression of TGF-β type Ⅰ receptor in component cells of preretinal proliferative membranes

　網膜前増殖膜形成過程におけるTGF—βの関与を検討するためにTGF—βⅠ型受容体の発現を増殖糖尿病網膜症，増殖性硝子体網膜症，網膜静脈分枝閉塞症，Coats病症例の手術時摘出膜について組織化学的に観察した。その結果，形成から時間の経過していない増殖膜ではTGF—βⅠ型受容体発現細胞は多数観察され，経過の長い増殖膜では受容体発現細胞は少数か，あるいは観察されなかった。網膜前増殖膜の形成過程では，初期の細胞成分の多い時期にTGF—β受容体発現量の多い細胞が出現し，経過の長い増殖膜には少ないことから，増殖膜形成にはTGF—βの関与が示唆された。

We examined, immunohistochemically, preretinal proliferative membranes for the expression of transforming growth factor-β type Ⅰ receptor (TGF-β R-Ⅰ). Proliferative membranes were obtained surgically from 3 eyes of proliferative vitreoretinopathy, 2 of proliferative diabetic retinopathy and one eye each of Coats' disease and vitreous hemorrhage after branch retinal vein occlusion. Specimens obtained shortly after onset of disease contained numerous cells expressing TGF-β R-Ⅰ. Specimens from longstanding diseases contained very few cells expressing TGF-β R-Ⅰ. The findings seemed to suggest that TGF-β plays an important role during the early stage of proliferative membrane formation.
