高度の脈絡膜剥離を合併し硝子体手術を要した白内障手術後全眼球炎の症例

Vitreous surgery was effective for endophthalmitis with choroidal detachment following cataract surgery

　白内障手術後に全眼球炎に至るまでの感染症を併発することは，現在かなり稀ではあるが，術中および術後の不注意やいわゆるCompromis—ed hostにおける感染は重症で時には失明に至ることもある。

　今回我々は，糖尿病および食道静脈瘤を有する症例に水晶体嚢外摘出術を施行し，術後重篤な全眼球炎を発症し，幸い硝子体手術で治癒せしめることができた症例を経験したので報告する。

We performed uneventful extracapsular cataract extraction in a patient with esophageal varix and diabetic hepatitis.

Severe endophthalmitis with ocular hypotony and choroidal detachment developed 4 days after surgery. After topical and systemic medications proved futile, the condition could be cured by vitrectomy and scleral tap. We advocate early vitrectomy for similar situations after failure of medical treatments.
