Abstract Purpose:To report two cases of supernumerary caruncle.

Cases:Two cases, a 30-year-old male and 44-year-old female, were referred to us for foreign body sensation presumably due to a tumor in the palpebral conjunctiva in the left lower eyelid.

Findings and Clinical Course:Both cases showed an oval tumor in the lower palpebral conjunctiva in the left eye measuring 4 mm×6 mm and 3 mm×5 mm respectively. The tumor was covered by numerous fine yellowish-white nodules. Hairs were present in the tumor. Both cases were treated by simple resection of the tumor. Histopathological studies showed findings simulating normal caruncle, including stratified columnar epithelium, hair follicles, goblet cells, fat, accessory lacrimal glands, and lymphocyte infiltration.

Conclusion:The present two cases of supernumery caruncle showed, as characteristic findings, unilateral presence, postnatal occurrence, presence of normal caruncle, and absence of tendency to malignancy.
