Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of corneal ulcer as complication of lacrimal canaliculitis. Case:An 83-year-old woman presented with massive discharge and palpebral swelling in the right eye since 5 days before. She had received ptosis surgery for right facial palsy 6 years before. Findings:Best-corrected visual acuity was hand motion right and 0.8 left. An ulcer of 7 mm in diameter was present in the right cornea. She was treated by topical and systemic antibiotics. Pressure to the site of lacrimal gland showed discharge of pus from the both canaculi. She then received lacrimal tubing. Ocular infection subsided 2 weeks later. Attenuated corneal turned into descemetocele. Culture of eye discharge showed Actinomyces spp. Conclusion:The present case of corneal ulcer developed as complication of lacrimal obstruction and infection by Actinomyces that dissolved the corneal stroma.
