65歳以上の高齢者網膜剥離543例552眼について次のような特徴を明らかにした．（1）弁状裂孔と黄斑裂孔が高頻度であった．（2）網膜裂孔の位置は10：3：3：1で耳上側に偏在していた．（3）裂孔の種類にかかわらず無水晶体眼を約20％に認め，高年齢になるほど高頻度であった．（4）黄斑裂孔を21％に認めたことより，全体では女性および変性近視・高度近視の頻度が高かった．
The features of 552 eyes older than 65 years of age with retinal detachment were studied retrospec-tively. There were aphakic eyes in 21% of the series. Macular break was found in 21%. There was a high preponderance of females (89%) in eyes with macular break. Retinal breaks other than macular break were predominantly located in the superotemporal quadrant.
