インフルエンザワクチン接種後に視神経炎を発症した1症例

Acute optic neuritis developed after an influenza vaccination

　インフルエンザHA （ヘムアグルチニン）ワクチン接種後12日目に，両側の視神経炎を発症した32歳男性の症例を経験した．接種したワクチンに含まれるインフルエンザウイルスA,B株に対する患者の血清抗体価は，通常のワクチン接種では考えられない程の高値を呈していた．本症例では，ワクチン接種が，視神経炎の発症と極めて関連が深いと推定された．

A 32-year-old male developed acute bilateral optic neuritis 12 days after vaccination with influ-enza hemagglutinin. The serum antibody titer for influenza A/Bangkok, A/Yamagata and B/Ibaragi was unusually high when compared with the levelsin the vaccine. These serum values gradually de-creased after initiation of systemic corticosteroid therapy, which proved very effective in bringing the visual acuity to rapid recovery. There was a high probability in the causal relationship between the optic neuritis and the influenza vaccination.
