緒 言
近年の諸家の研究により新しいentityとして認められつつあり,且つ注目を集めてきた未熟児性近視(Myopia of prematurity)1〜6)の眼軸長,ならびに眼内屈折要素軸長の相互関係の解明を日的として,超音波生体計測を行い,成熟児のいわゆる若年性近視とは異つた興味ある知見が得られたのでその大要を報告する。
We conducted quantitative determinations of refractive components of the eye in 74 normal children and 68 children with confirmed history of prematurity. The 68 children were aged 8 months to 13 years at the time of refractometric measurements. An A-mode echography was used for the determination of the axial length of the eyeglobe.
Our present oculometric study suggests myopia of prematurity to be the result of faulty correlation of the refractive components. It is first remarked that the mean axial length is shorter than useally expected in myopia of that order.
