フリーズ・フラクチャーおよび超薄切片による網膜色素変性症の電子顕微鏡的観察

Ultrastructure and Freeze-Fracture Replica of Retinitis Pigmentosa

緒　言

　1966年水野，西田^1,2）は，はじめて網膜色素変性症を電子顕微鏡的に観察した。その時点で内外に37の剖検例が報告されていると述べている。その後も若干の剖検例と電子顕微鏡による観察例が記載されている^3〜7）が，これらの剖検例の大部分は合併症により眼球摘出を受けたもの，あるいは死後変化の強いものである。しかし続発性変化を伴うものの，徐々にではあるが，新しい知見が積重ねられている。

　著者らも今回網膜色素変性症で絶対緑内障を伴つた1例を電子顕微鏡およびFreeze-Fracture法により観察する機会を得たので報告する。

In a case of retinitis pigmentosa in a 50-year-old female, the right eye was removed because of absolute glaucoma. The eyeball was examin-ed histologically with light and electron micro-scope using ultrathin section and freeze-fracture replica technique. The outer and inner segments of visual cells had almost completely disappear-ed except in the upper retinal periphery. The macular area could not be examined. In serevely degenerated retinal areas, outer nuclear layer had almost disappeared and merged with the inner nuclear layer.
