涙道機能検査と機能不全症

Insufficiency of lacrimal pathway and its function test

　涙道機能検査は臨床上重要であるのに，フルオレスチンの結膜嚢内消失時間を測定する方法しかない。しかもこの方法は時間がかかること，涙道の器質的疾患も含まれるので臨床上最良の方法とは言えない。又涙道機能は瞬目運動と関係が深いのに今までの検査ではこれを等閑にしている。これらのこと，及び鼻涙管口検査，ビニール管による涙嚢機能検査の経験から臨床上に適していると思われる涙道機能検査法を考案したので報告し，併せて涙道機能不全症数例を経験したので報告する。

In order to find out functional insufficiency of lacrimal pathway, a function test, chiefly for blinking motion and absorption force of tear, was introduced.

Functional insufficiency of lacrimal pathway means the lack of the function which absorbs tear from the conjunctival sack and pump out into the meatus nasalis inferior without manifest obstruction.

The functional insufficiency was confirmed to be present in some cases of epiphora and severe chronic cojunctivitis.
