テラマイシン軟膏投与による工場従業員トラコーマ治療成績について

On the Effect of the Use of Terramycin Ointment in the Treatment of Trachoma in Factory Employes

Ⅰ）緒言

　抗生物質によるトラコーマ集団治療成績に就ては多くの報告があるが，これ等は主として学童又は医療機関に乏しい辺鄙な地方の人々に就てのものであつて，工場等職場に於けるものは極めて少い。私達は製鉄工場に於てテラマイシン軟膏を投与し患者自身に点眼させる方法によるトラコーマ集団治療を4年間継続して可成りの成果を揚げる事が出来たので，その概要を報告する。

The authors treated 1,552 patients of trachoma in factory employes by dropping a 0.5% ointment of terramycin into the eyes 4 times daily for 6 weeks, and curried out examina-tions 9 times on the results of the treatment ; 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 1.5 year, 2 years, 2.5 years, 3 years, 3.5 years and 4 years after the treatment for 6 weeks.

In each examination, for incurable patients the same treatment was continued and occa-tionally operation was jointly conducted.
