視力と作業事故について

On Visual Acuity and Accidental Injury.

緒言

　何等かの危険を伴う作業に従事するものの事故による傷害の発生が，その従業員の視力とどのような関係をもつかを糾明することは，炭害の予防，労務管理等にとつて極めて重要なことである。

　問題は，その作業内容により，従業上の地位により，その他各種の要因によつて著しく異なると考えられるが，我々は以下述べる一つのケースについて調査分析を行つた。

Any influence of the visual acuity of a subject on the frequency of his accidental injuries was questioned. A survey was conducted on 2,248 workers employed in the chemical industry, whose risks were considered practically comparable. The frequency of the induced injuries over a period of one year was recorded, along with the acuity of theboth eyes measured for each of the workers.

Both crude and log unit expressions of visual acuity were used and the frequency was transformed by Anscombe's formula of Poisson case.
