（25）Trachomaの初発症状に関する諸問題

Some problems on the onset of Trachoma

　Trachoma （Tr．）の初発症状に関しては今尚論争を繰返しており，終局の結論は得られていないが，その考えは大体次の3つに分けられる。（1）慢性発病説，Mac Callan，Morax，Axenfeld，Nataf等主に古い学者によつて唱えられ，急性発病をするのは細菌の混合感染によるとする。（2）大部分はinsidiousに発病するが例外的に急性に発病すると云う考えでBietti，Tygeson等により主張され，現在のW．H．O．Tr．委員会の意見とされている。（3） Tr．の大部分のものはAcute又はSubacuteの症状で始まるとする説で，三井，国友，上野，青木，筒井等がこの考え方をとつている。

　私は今迄の研究の結果から此の問題を再検討してみたい。

Problems on the onset of trachoma has been discussed on the following subjects based on the experimental evidence.

1. In old trachomatology, definition of trachoma came from cardinal symptoms, i. e. fol-licle, papilla, scar and pannus. The infective agent was found from a part of such a di-sease and decided as an infective agent. In modern virology the definition of trachoma should be given on the virological view point. Therefore, the inoculation experiment should attach the great importance.

2. Some authorities belive that acute onset of trachoma may be caused by the abundant infecting viruses.
