（6）「ポリ・ビニール・アルコール」「ポリ・ビニール・フオルマール・スポンジ」「ポリ・ビニール・スポンジ」の眼科整形手術への応用

Application of poly-binyle-alcohol (poly-binyle-sponge) for the ophtkalamic plastic surgery

〔Ⅰ〕緒言

　「ポリ・ビニール・アルコール」は白色の粒末であるが，「ホルマリン」処理による縮合物は小なる無数の気胞を含んだ固形物である。水には溶解しないが，水分を含ませると，軟い弾力性のブヨブヨした海綿様の物体となる（「ポリ・ビニール・フオルマール・スポンジ」或は「ポリ・ビニール・スポンジ」）。此の際体積は少しく膨隆する。眼科の整形手術に応用する場合，固形の合成樹脂よりも，此の軟い弾力性海綿様の「ポリ・ビニール」（以下略称）の方が具合の良い場合が多いのではないかと考え，1〜2使用してみたので，茲に報告する。既にアメリカでは眼窩内に挿入した症例が見られる。

The wet, soft, elastic, sponge-like poly-binyle-alcohol was buried in the screla-sack after the enuclation of eye-ball and the artificial eye was applied over it.

This artificial eye were relatively movable to up and down or right and left, the fine meve-ment of it was recognized.

By the application of it into the dent of eye-lid, it was more better to prevent to protrude than the hard plastic or fragile fatt tissue.
