  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Occurrence of photochemical smog during summer in a big city has become a very common event in this country. Previous reports indicate that there were ocular complaints as well as reduction of lysozyme in this condition. Cases exposed to smog are known to have stinging sensation of the eye, as well as other autonomic symptoms and signs. However, long-term survey with lots of exposed subjects has not been carried out.

In the present report, epidemiological, bioche-mical, ophthalmological, and experimental stu-dies have been made. Following conclusions were obtained.
