Operation of Essential Blepharospasm : Report of Two Cases

緒言

　瞼痙攣は不随意的な持続性の眼輪筋の強制的な収縮で，数秒から数時間まで続くもので，これには症候性と特発性とがある。

　症候性瞼痙攣とは眩光による網膜刺激あるいは角膜，結膜や眼瞼の刺激による眼輪筋の反射性攣縮のことで，まれには脳炎後のParkinosonismや類似の疾患のさいにもみられる。

Two aged cases of unilateral essential blepha-rospasm were treated effectively by the follow-ing operative technic.

Procedure : 1) Canthoplasty by Ammon's me-thod. 2) Advancement of the palpebral levator muscle according to modified Sachs' method : A skin incision was made 3mm above the margin of the upper lid at length of about 15 mm in the middle, and the skin was under-mined to expose the upper orbicularis muscle.
