  • Look Inside

Three cases of reading retardation were re-ported. Case 1, in a 9-year-old boy who was intelligent, healthy, from a good home, no de-monstrable brain damage, minimal brain dysfu-nction, or neurological impairment was diagnos-ed as developmental dyslexia. Case 2, in an 8-year-old boy who showed minimal brain dama-ge was diagnosed as secondary reading retar-dation. His father was Japanese and his mother was American, he had more difficulty with read-ing and writing of English than of Japanese.

Case 3, in a 13-year-old boy with myopia who showed reading retardation as a result of a severe emotional problem.
