神戸医大眼科教室における脳下垂体腺腫の統計及び一特異例

Statistic Observation on Operated Cases of Pituitary Adenomas

I．緒言

　近年，脳腫瘍診断に対する眼科検索は，いよいよ重要性を増しているが，殊に，視交叉部腫瘍の診断に対する眼科医の役割は大きい。そこで，我々は，昭和23年1月より昭和40年10月迄に神戸医大眼科に於て開頭を行い，脳下垂体腺腫と診断された59例中病理組織的に再検された45例について統計的観察を行い，更にPituitary Apoplexyにより急激にParasellar Extensionをおこしたと推定される1例を経験したのであわせ報告する。

Statistic observations were done on 45 cases of pituitary adenomas craniotomized at the eye clinic of Kobe university Hospital.

Visual disturbance was noticed as initial symptom in 86 per cent of the cases. Tem-poral field defect was observed in 85 per cent of the cases, whereas bitemporal hemianopsia was seen only in 46 per cent. Simple optic atrophy in both eyes was noticed in 70 per cent. Extrasellar extension was observed in only one case. In roentgenography of the skull, 79 per cent of cases showed ballooning enlar-gement, while 6 per cent showed saucer-like enlargement. Operative mortality was 13 per cent.
