前房隅角をめぐつて

Some topics over the anterior chamber angle

　本日は，まず慶応の植村先生が，弱視の診断と治療という極めて実際的な深くほりさげたお話を，日眼総会の余勢をかつてなされたわけであり，又，私の次には飯塚博士のこれは社会保険の関係に於いて新しいお話があるようであります。問にはさまれまして，実際的な，点数であるとか，収入とか，費用という面に甚だうとい私が，これからお話申上げることはきつとある意味では時間つぶしだとお考えになるようなことかも知れませんが，私として私なりのお話を申し上げようと思います。

　さて，私は，前房隅角というものをめぐる話題をここで講義したいと思います。

In the first part of this lecture originally intended as refreshing course for ophthalmo-logists in practice, the author tried to locate the probable site of outflow resistance by studying the mammlian eyes, in which two distinct types can be discerned. In the equine eye the trabeculum is well developed with rudimenary sinus structure which is an equi-valent for the canal of Schlemm in the human eye. In this type of eyes, to which the pig and the cow also belong, the main site of outflow resistance can be surmised to lie within the trabecular meshwork.
