白内障手術時における指圧による眼内圧の降下について

Reducing of ocular pressure by compression in cataract surgery

Ⅰ．緒言

　白内障手術時，特に全別出術時においては，その手術操作を順調にするためにも，従つて合併症を起さないためにも，眼内圧の調整が非常に重要な処置である。

　この目的の為に眼球に指圧を加えることが眼内圧を降下させて置く事の出来る一つの方法として用いられている。その場合に眼球に加える圧迫をどの程度にすべきかを知りたいと考え，一つの試みとして眼瞼上から一定の圧迫を一定時間加えた場合の眼内圧の推移をたどつて見た。

A method of inducing ocular hypotony by placing a metal block of 500gr for 5 minutes prior to cataract sur gery is cescribed.

The intraocular pressure is reduced to an average of 6.2mmHg in normal subjects and returns to the initial level only after 90 minu-tes. It is advocated that a digital compression of more than 500 gr in force be practised as a routine preoperative procedure in cataract surgery.
