眼窩及び副鼻腔手術による視神経傷害と視力の回復性について

Optic nerve damage after the operation of nasal sinuses

　眼窩腫瘍摘出手術と副鼻腔炎根治手術のあとで視力障害をおこした例を，最近ひきつづいて経験したので，その経過等を報告する。このような事故は少なくないように思われるが，わが国における報告は，案外少なく私が調べたところでは，副鼻腔炎根治手術後の視神経傷害は全部で24例で，そのうち半数が失明，あとの半数は殆んど正常視力に戻つている。眼窩腫瘍摘出後の視神経傷害例は結局眼窩内容除去術が行われるか或いは簡単な試験切除で終るせいか報告は殆んど見あたらない。

Two cases of the optic nerve damage after the operation of orbital tumour and nasal sinuses are reported.

The prognosis of these accident is generally wrong when the visual acuity do not improve to 20/100 in two weeks after operation.
