眼科領域に於ける筋注用ペントバルビタール・ナトリウムの使用経験

Intramuscular Administration of Pentbarbitar Natrium for Ophthalmological Sphare

　我が国に於ける眼科手術の補助麻酔，殊に前麻酔（Premedication）には，アトロピン剤，スコポラミン剤，モルフイン剤，バルビタール剤，コデイン等色々な種類の藥剤が使われて来たが，之等の藥剤の或るものは副作用が強く，術中の操作に却つて障碍を与えたり，術後不快な現象を残したりする。此の様な事実から，眼科手術に対する補助麻酔と云う事に対しては，比較的考慮が払われていないようである。

　従来から，医師は，眼科手術は簡単にするという印象の故に，局所麻酔のみに頼る習慣があり，殊に外来での手術にはその傾向が強いようであつて，眼の手術を恐しいものだと考えている多くの患者には大きな不安を与えているようである。又此の様な事は，現在までに適当な補助麻酔剤が現われなかつたせいかも知れない。何れにせよ，実際に前麻酔を行つて患者の手術に対する不安を除き，精神的安静を保持する事が出来れば，局所麻酔や全身麻酔も完全に遂行出来，患者は何の苦痛もなく手術を受けられ，術者も又，容易に手術を行う事が出来て，術中，患者が安静を欠くことによつて起る偶発事故を防止する事が出来，手術をより効果的に行う事が出来る。

Pentobarbital natrium was used intramuscularly as the premedication of anesthesia in 25 adults of the ophthalmologic operation.

The effect of this medicin can be make more satisfactory by the additional administra-tion when the initial effect was not enough, because this medicin was used very easily. Its appearence time of anesthesia was short and its continuous time was moderate in the oph-thalmic operation which takes relatively short time. And it is fit for the the ophthalmic operation required the cooperation of the patient.
