Abstract. Purpose:To report the outcome of intravitreal injection of bevacizumab for nonischemic central retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. Cases and Method:This retrospective study was made on 7 eyes of 7 cases of central retinal vein occlusion with macular edema. The series comprised 3 males and 4 females. The age ranged from 58 to 80 years, average 69 years. Each eye received intravitreal injection of 1.25 mg bevacizumab and followed up for up to 12 months. Visual acuity was evaluated as logMAR. Optical coherence tomography was used to measure the foveal thickness. Results:Mean visual acuity remained unchanged throughout the period of observation. Foveal thickness decreased one week and one month after treatment. It showed no change from the pretreatment value after 3 months. Conclusion:Intravitreal injection of bevacizumab for nonischemic central retinal vein occlusion resulted in temporary decrease of foveal thickness. There was no change in visual acuity or foveal thickness on a long-term basis up to 12 months.
