弾性線維腫の診断・治療の進め方―14症例の経験から

The Diagnosis and Treatment of Elastofibroma. Report of 14 Cases

　1995年から2008年の間に経験した14例の弾性線維腫について報告する．男性5名，女性9名で平均65.2歳，全例肩甲骨下に発生しており，片側11例，両側3例であった．全例に組織診断を行い，有症状の6例に手術を施行した．通常の細胞診検査やHE染色では弾性線維を見逃す危険があるので，臨床所見から本症を疑うことを組織診断医に伝達し，弾性線維を証明することが重要である．

　Fourteen cases of elastofibroma were diagnosed between 1995 and 2008.　The patients consisted of 5 men and 9 women, and their mean age was 65.2 years.　The tumor arose in the subscapular area in every patient, and was unilateral in 11 case and bilateral in 3 cases.　The six symptomatic cases were treated surgically.　The histological diagnosis was established based on the discovery of elastic fibers in the needle biopsy specimens.　However, since elastic fibers were often missed by routine cytological examinations or in HE-stained specimens, it is essential to share the clinical information with the cytologist and pathologist to make an accurate diagnosis.
