  • Look Inside

The aim of this study was to clarify the postoperative QOL of elderly lumbar canal stenosis patients by means of the Roland-Morris disability questionnaire(RDQ). The subjects were 50 patients with lumbar canal stenosis whose course was followed up for more than three months after surgery in our department. Their symptom intensity, gait capacity,JOA score, satisfaction,QOL related to low back pain, and psychiatric problems were assessed. There was no significant difference between the elderly group(70 years old and over)and the adult group(69 years and under)in the deviation value of the RDQ calculated based on reference values in Japan. Satisfaction and QOL related to low back pain were significantly low in patients with psychiatric problems in both groups.
