運動器に関する疫学調査―南会津スタディ第2報：腰部脊柱管狭窄と健康関連QOLとの関係（横断研究）

Epidemiologic Study of Musculoskeletal Disorders. Minami-Aizu Study. Part 2 : Cross-sectional Study of the Incidence of Lumbar Spinal Canal Stenosis and its Relation to Health-related QOL (HR-QOL)

　地域住民において，腰部脊柱管狭窄の存在がQOLに対してどのように影響を与えているかは不明である．本報告では，地域住民における腰部脊柱管狭窄と包括的健康関連QOLとの関係を検討した．対象は，同年代の人口の21.5％に当たる地域住民1,862名である（最多年代層は70歳代）．腰部脊柱管狭窄の診断は，東北腰部脊柱管狭窄研究会で作成された腰部脊柱管狭窄の診断ツールを用いた．また，包括的健康関連QOLは日本語版SF-36（version 1.2）を用いた．本調査により，腰部脊柱管狭窄の存在は健康関連QOLを低下させることが明らかになった．

　Lumbar spinal canal stenosis (LSCS) seems to be common in the elderly, but, there have been few reports on the relationship between LSCS and health-related QOL (HR-QOL) in the community. The Minami-Aizu Study was conducted on 1,862 people (largest number in the 8th decade of life) who agreed to participate and were interviewed. They accounted for approximately 21.5％ of the local population. The subjects were evaluated for the presence of LSCS by means of a specially designed questionnaire. Short Form-36 (SF-36) (Japanese version) was used to evaluate of HR-QOL. The results showed that LSCS had a strong negative influence on HR-QOL in the community.
