I.緒言
Carotid angiography is, in general, carried out separately on each side, while reports of Simultaneous Bilateral Carotid Angiography (SBCA) have been rarely found in literatures.
It has been generally admitted this SBCA possessed the following abvantages: 1) a decrease in the neces-sary exposure and a reduction of procedure to carry out angiography, 2) comparison of circulation and vascular trees of both carotid system, 3) precise re-search after circulatory change in vascular malforma-tion and pressure effect caused by space taking mass.
Moreover, this method is disclosed to have a spe-cial diagnostic evaluation of anterior cerebral artery occlusion, whereas it excludes false occlussive phen-omen which occasionally takes place through circula-tory changes of cross flow depending on hemodynamic influence upon both anterior cerebral arteries.
In addition, investigations of intracerebral circula-tion in both cerebral injury and migraine attack, and changes of striatum area in apoplexy by seriogram of SBCA are discussed.
