  • Look Inside

Experiences of two cases of Leptomenin-geal Cysts of the brain following head trau-ma, which occurred in childhood (16 months to 4 years old at the time of injury), are reported.

The first noticed symptom was convulsion in one case and sounds in left ear in the another, 12 to 13 years after the injury. But later, about 17 to 20 years after head trau-ma, irregular headache or epileptic seizures caused them to the hospital.

Radiologic findings were characteristic, namely an irregular defect in anterior parie-tal bone, corresponding to the original frac-ture line, with scalloped margins, some de-gree of thickening, sclerosis of the adjacent bone and triangular backwards extending atrophy.

Cerebrospinal pressure were in both cases, slightly elevated. But cerebrospinal fluid was normal.

Pneumoencephalography revealed an irre-gular multiloculated abnormal cystic spaces, where retarded absorption of the air.

Electroencephalography and carotid arterio-graphy revealed no characteristics of cys-tic changes of arachnoid.
