頭蓋内に発育したMyxomaが局所症状として失読症を呈した,誠に興味深い脳腫瘍患者の一治験例を報告し,本患者の症状分析から,失読症に対し若干の知識を附加し度い。
The authors reported a case of 26 years old female who had alexia as a localizing sym-ptom of intracranial myxoma.
Since 10 years more she had a subcutaneous tumor at 1-occipital part, which began at first to develop in puberty, and so she had the repeatments of its extirpation and its reappea-rance at same place six times from 20 till 26 years old. (microscopically: myxoma.), At 26 years old she complained of headache, naus-ea, vomiting, and visual disturbance, so she was admitted in our clinic on Dec. 2. 1956, under the diagnosis of a suspected brain tumor.
The clinical symptoms showing the locality of a brain tumor were alexia, acaluculia, fin-geragnosia, confusion of laterality, and dextra homonyme hemianopsia. On Decem. 14, 1956, operation (extirpation of the brain tumor) was performed and it was found that the subcu-taneous tumor (myxoma) penetrated through the skull with expansion into the intracranium. As for gyrus angularis (area 39) the tumor invaded only the subcortex but not the cortex. The microscopic diagnosis about the tumor was myxoma.
