  • Look Inside

P32 appearance from cerebro-spinal fluid into blood on the normal rabbits was observed at 5,10,20,30 minutes, 1,2,18 and 24 hours after about 12 μc of H3P32O4 (P32) infusion in the cisterna magna. On the other hand for control, the same dose of P32 was given in the muscle.

In the case of muscle injecting, the P32 concentration curve in blood showed a peak (40 cpm) at the 10 minutes after and this result agrees with the other reports.

By the infusion into the cisterna magna, P32 did not appear in blood; even 24 hours after injection, a few counts were detected in blood. But on the subcutaneous injection of histamine in the time, the P32 appeared in blood, though it was not remarkable, and the concentration curve showed the maximum value at 30-60 minutes after the histamine injection.

Histamine does not dilate the capillary vessels of rabbits, as known, so from these results, it is to be considered that a factor of the blood-brain barrier is the permeability of the capillary vessels and histamine increases the latter.
