The influences of the central nervous system upon the Glutathion in blood

The nervons centrum of the protein meta-bolism, inspite of a many number of studies which have been performed hitherto, is to be said unknown generally.

The object of this study is to make clear the influence of nervous system upon the Glu-thathion quantity in blood which is a product of the protein metabolism, and for the purpose the quantity of Glutation in blood was measur-ed after following varios experiments the des-truction and the eletrical stimulation of thehypothalamus, the electrical stimulation of the thalamus, cerebral cortex, striatum and the mesencephalon, the cutting of the thoracic and cervical cord and the spranchnic nerves.

The results ob ained are as following:

1. Hypothalamus.

1) The Glutathion quantity in blood (Glutathion methabolism, G. M.) is increased under the electrical stimulations of the Nucl. paraventri-cularis and the Nucl.lateralis thalami.

2) G. M. is decreased under the stimulation of the Nucl. medialis ventralis hypothalami, the influence of the stimulation is seemed to be lesser when the stimulation is performed in the more posterior part.

3) G. M. is increased under the stimulation of Nucl.lateralis mamillaris.

2. The cerebral cortex.

1) The role of the cortex playng in the Gluta-thion metabolism is the central innervation of it.

2) The G. M. is restrained under the electrical stimulation of the Area 12, Area 13 14, and the Area 24, and is accerelated under the stimula-tion of the Area 6.

3. Thalamus.

1) G. M. is decreased under the stimulation of the Nucll. rostrales, Nucll. medialis dorsalis and the Nucll. ven t rales.

2) G. M. is increased under the stimulation of the Nucl. medianus.

3) G. M. is not seemed to be influenced under the stimulation of the other parts.

4. Striatum. G. M. is controlled under the stimulation of it.

5. Mesencephlon.

1) G. M. is restrained under the stimulation of the Stratum griseum centrale.

2) G. M. is increased under the stimulation of the Formatio reticularis.

6. The descending tract which is concerning in tne G. M. in blood will arise from the center in the hypothalamus, descendeing through the mesencephlon and the medulla oblongata, emer-ges from the lower part of the cervical cord, enters into the gangliated cord and the spla-chnic and supplies the liver. The G. M. will be performed chiefly in the liver.
