The usefulness of monitoring the transcutane-ous PO2(tcPO2) in adults at rest and during exercise tests using a treadmill was evaluated. Forty-nine patients with respiratory diseases; chronic bronchitis 12 cases; emphysema 17 cases ; pneumoconiosis or lung fibrosis 10 cases ; im-paired respiratory function from tuberculosis 10 cases; and eleven patients with non-respiratory diseases and volunteers, were tested.
