  • Look Inside

In recent years, many attentions have been paid for salvaging ischemic myocardium by pharmacological and surgical intervention. Above all Fluosol-DA is thought to be one of the promising chemicals for perfusing myocardium because of sufficient oxygen carrying capacity, suitable particle size and viscosity for micro-circulation. We have been investigated the hemo-dynamics, biochemical and pathomorphological effects of Fluosol-DA on the experimental myo-cardial infarction in dogs. These data was compared with the effects of HES and Heparin infusion.

Following production of myocardial ischemia, LVEDP showed rapid elevation and reached its peak within 3 minutes in all groups. However, it gradually decreased to the normal level at the end of 120 minutes of Fluosol-DA infusion, where as they remained elevated at the peak levels in the HES and Heparin infusion groups. At the end of 2 hours following Fluosol-DA infusion, max dp/dt showed a tendency to recover to the normal level, on the other hand, those of HES and Heparin group showed further decreases.
