　開心術の際に，末梢循環不全防止の目的で，α—blockerが用いられ，有効なことが報告されている^1〜7）。われわれも同様の目的で，phenoxybenzamine　（POB）を体外循環開始前より使用し，良好な成績を収めてきた^8）が，高度の肺高血圧を伴う心室中隔欠損症（VSD）および両大血管右室起始症（DORV）の術中ならびに術後の検索により，POBは肺血管抵抗をも減少せしめることを知ったので，その成績について述べ，2,3の考察を加えたい。

Of 153 cases undergoing corrective heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation using phenoxybenzamine (POB) from June 1971 to July 1977, 20 cases with ventricular septal defect and pulmonary hypertension (VSD+PH) and 5 cases with double outlet right ventricle and pulmonary hypertension (DORV+PH) were sub-jected to this study.

The ratios of pulmonary to systemic arterial pressures (Pp/Ps) and vascular resistances (Rp/Rs) were measured before, immediately after and one month after correction.
