  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

During shock, tissue perfusion is significantly decreased and tissue gas (change in Po2, Pco2 and pH) seems to be a good method for monitoring tissue perfusion. Even in a severe shock, arterial blood gas remains normal and does not providean adequate index of tissue perfusion and oxygenation.

Continuous observation of changes in Po, and Pco2 level over long periods of hypotension has not, as yet, been reported.

Hemorrhagic shock was sustained for approximately seven hours, as mentioned previously.
