  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A case of thirty seven year old male who had ruptured carotid aneurysm with Behζet's disease was cured by surgical operation, was reported and relation between aneurysm and Behζet's disease was discussed. Patho-logical changes occured in Behζet's disease include almost all the organs. It is evidently known that vascular pathology is responsible for onset of Behζet's disease from histologic study of the mucosa and other tissues. Vas-cular pathology frequently seen in Behζet's disease restrictes to the small vessels and it had not been known that relatively large vessels like carotid artery were affected. But relatively large vessels were affected in our case.

Reports that Behζet's disease complicated with so called aortic arch syndrome, periar-teritis nodosa and Buerger's disease which were the basis of the onset of the aneurysm were occasionally seen.

For these reasons our case is considered that the relatively large vessels was affected in Behζet's disease and developed to ruptur-ed aneurysm.
