In patients with cerebral arteriosclerosis, ventilatory responses to carbon dioxide and to the respiratory resistance added artificially were studied with following conclusions.
Distribution of the irritability in 18 pa-tients with cerebral arteriosclerosis were nearly the same as in the hospitalized normal group, and it seems unlikely that the grade of arteriosclerosis influences the irritability. In these 18 patients, the sen-sitivities were diminished in only 2 cases, and it is not clear whether the sensitivies are reduced in patients with cerebral arte-riosclerosis.
