Circulatory Dynamics in the Left Heart—Ⅰ． Clinical Classification of the Valvular Lesions

　Being engaged in the cardiac surgery in these years, the author has become aware of the difficulty of heart diseases, the signi-ficance of accurate diagnosis and the objec-tive evaluation method of operative effect immediately after the operation. Present paper has covered the fundamental problems of this study. Although conclusion of this problem appears to be simple, this is reached after the through study of operation, long-termed operative results and critics for the previous diagnostic method in addition to the review of results of measurement. Tendency to discuss the cardiopulmonary function based on the previous uncertain findings has been noted in many of the previous reposts. Before criticizing these reports, it is of significance to clarify the type of lesions in valvular disease.

　Gorlin also stated the importance of type of lesions and the functional capacity in determing the operative indication.

　In the next paper, detail of circulatory dynamics and cardiopulmonary hemodyna-mics will be discussed. In the present paper, the author discussed mainly the differential diagnosis based on the circula-tory dynamics in mitral and aortic valvular disease.
