Relationships of 'Ventilation Index' with some factors of blood phase

　すでに，著者等は肺結核患者とくに被術者の社会復帰にあたり，結核症の治療によつて受けた機能障碍を，労働生理学的見地から検討し，Reha—bilitationに対する一指標として，換気予備率と運動指数から算出される換気指数を提唱した^{1），2），3）}。

　このような指標が広く臨床的に用いられるためには，簡単な装置と装作で測定でき，しかも心肺機能を正確に評価しうるものでなければならない。この場合，肺の気相面における機能が主体とならざるをえないが，心肺機能のnet resultsは一応動脈血の組成に反映されるから，気相面の検索と同時に，動脈血を採取することによつて，さらに心肺機能の評価により一層の精密さを期待することができる。

Observaions on arterial blood before and after exercise test in 40 cases with pulmonary tuberculosis,have revealed the following relations with Ventilation Index which is presented by the authors and iscalulated on our nomogram based on Exercise Index and Ventilation Reserve:

1) When Ventilation Index excesses 60, arterial pH, saturation, oxygen pressure and carbon dioxidepressure vary very little before and after exercise, while in Ventilation Index under 60, they varywidely.
