5）糞線虫症

Strongyloides Stercoralis Infection

要旨　糞線虫症（strongyloidiasis）は糞線虫（Strongyloides stercoralis）によって起こる寄生虫感染症の1つである．糞線虫はヒトに経皮的に感染し，主に十二指腸や小腸上部に寄生する1～2mmの小さな線虫であり，わが国では亜熱帯地域に属する沖縄県を中心とする南西諸島が浸淫地である．診断には当教室で考案した普通寒天平板培地法が有用である．糞線虫感染者は無症候性ないし軽症の場合が多く，臨床上問題となることは少ないが，宿主の免疫能が低下した場合などには重症化し，死に至ることも少なくない．治療薬としてはチアベンダゾールやアイバメクチンが有用である．

　Strongyloides stercoralis (S. stercoralis) infection is an important neomatodiasis of humans and fatal in an immunocompromised host. The infection rate of S. stercoralis in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, was found to be about 10％ of the population when stool samples were tested by a new technique, the agar plate method.

　S. stercoralis is located mainly in the duodenum and jejunum of humans. Patients suffering from strongyloidiasis have usually been found in Okinawa or the other Nansei Islands in Japan. Nowadays, we can use tiabendazole or ivermectin for therapy of strongyloidiasis in Japan.
