Factor Ⅴ Deficiency(FⅤ Deficiency) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the F5 gene. It is diagnosed based on low Factor Ⅴ activity. Factor Ⅴ promotes thrombin production by activating factor Ⅹ. Therefore, a deficiency of Factor Ⅹ results in prolonged PT and APTT on blood tests and intractable bleeding during surgery or with trauma. Fresh-frozen plasma(FFP) transfusion is an effective therapy for replacing deficient coagulation factors during bleeding or during surgery or other hemorrhagic procedures.

In this report, we described two cases of thyroid surgery in patients diagnosed with factor Ⅴ deficiency.
