1　学会設立の経緯

　日本心臓血管麻酔学会（以下，本学会）は初代藤田昌雄理事長のもと，より安全で質の高い心血管治療の周術期医療を実践することを目的として1996年に設立された一般社団法人である。2023年で28回を数える学術大会や各種セミナーの開催，学会雑誌の出版などさまざまな学会活動を行ってきており，会員数も2023年10月現在3,500名を超えている。

　The Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists was founded in 1996, and the Society’s current membership is nearly 3,500 individuals. Scientific and educational activities of the Society including the annual meeting and guidelines are introduced, and the board certification system of transesophageal echocardiography（by the Japanese Board of Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography［JB-POT］）and cardiovascular anesthesia are described. Our Society’s international communication with many foreign countries and future issues are also presented.
