This talk focuses on patient outcomes and the importance of the Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC)1), although the use of standardized nursing diagnoses and interventions is equally important. Today, the aim is to describe NOC, but before I acquaint you further with the classification, it will be useful to discuss some of the context and significance of the development of standardized nursing languages and specifically for outcomes that are responsive to nursing.
