新しいテトラサイクリン系薬剤，セファロスポリン系薬剤及びその他の抗菌剤に対するレンサ球菌の感受性

Susceptibility of Streptococci to Newer Tetracyclines and Cephalosporins and to Other Antimicrobial Agents

　はじめに—レンサ球菌の抗生物質感受性に関しては多く知られているところであるが，まだなお解明されなければならない多くの問題がある．テトラサイクリン系薬剤に対するグラム陽性菌群の感受性には大きな相違がある．常用テトラサイクリン系薬剤に対する感受性を知るうえに単一ディスク法は役に立つであろうか？最近，二つの新しいセファロスポリン系薬剤が発売された．これらのレンサ球菌に対する抗菌活性は現在使用されているセファロスポリン剤に匹敵するものであろうか？世界各地でクロラムフェニコール，エリスロマイシン，クリンダマイシン耐性のレンサ球菌がみられてきている．この耐性は合衆国北東部で最近分離されたレンサ球菌にもみられるのであろうか．これらの疑問に答えるためにこの検討を行い，同時に余り調べられていない二，三の抗菌剤に対するレンサ球菌の感受性成績についても報告する．

INTRODUCTION-Much is known about the antibiotic susceptibility of streptococci, but there are many questions which still can be asked.^*1 Important differences exist in the susceptibility of gram positive organisms to tetracyclines. Can a single disc test be used to predict susceptibility to all commonly used tetracyclines ? Recently, two new cephalosporin antibiotics, have been released.^*2 Is their activity against streptococci^*3 comparable to that of cephalosporins presently in use ? Marked resistance to chloramphenicol, erythromycin, and clindamycin has been seen in streptococci in various parts of the world. Is this resistance reflected in recent streptococcal isolates from the northeastern United States ? An attempt will be made to answer these questions as well as provide data about the susceptibility of streptococci to some uncommonly tested antimicrobial agents.
