I．はじめに

　耳鼻咽喉科領域の腫瘍の中で軟骨肉腫は比較的に稀であるが，特に側頭骨に発生した軟骨肉腫症例は，いまだ本邦では，その報告をされていない。今回，我々は右耳の耳閉塞感を主訴に来院した患者の側頭骨に，本腫瘍を経験し，摘出し得たので，文献的考察を加え報告する。

　The first case in Japan of primary chondrosarcoma of the temporal bone was reported.

　A 27-year-old woman was admitted because of a hearing loss and closure of the external auditory canal of the right ear. Radiological examinations showed an extensive bony destruction in the supra-auricular region, and CT showed an expansive mass lesion in the right temporal bone with scattered ossification.

　The tumor was removed and a defect of the meninx was closed with a free femoral fascia graft.

　Histological examination revealed chondrosarcoma of the temporal bone which is very rare in its location. This tumor probably arised from aberrant cartilagenous cell nests or from remnants of the embryonal cartilaginous tissue which escaped from resorption during the endochondral ossification. Seven months after the surgery no signs of recurrency were noted.
