I.緒言
Mycoplasma pneumoniae
M. pneumoniae organisms were infected into hamster by inhalation of aerosol in oder to observe colonization of the organisms in the nasal cavity, oral cavity, nasal septum, trachea and lungs, and also to observe histopathological changes in the nasal septum, trachea and lungs. M. pneumoniae was recovered 60% from the nasal cavity, especially 80% from the nasal septum at 2 weeks after infection. At the same time, the pathological changes were recognized in 20% of the nasal septum samples. Histopathologic changes were not found in any of control tissue samples obtained from non-infected hamsters. The findings that M. pneumoniae attached to nasal mucosa and produced pathological changes suggest that the organisms might contribute to the formation of sinusitis and exacerbation of chronic sinusitis in human.
