　喉頭癌の全摘の予後は比較的よい。しかし全摘をすれば発声も鼻呼吸も不能となる。

　Gluckの時代からLaryngofissure，Hemi-laryngectomieをして喉頭の機能を保持しようとする試みが行われていた理由はそこにある。今日では更にSupraglottic horizontal laryngectomyが加つた。Leroux-Robertの世界的な統計によるとLaryngofissureでは90％，Vertical partial laryngectomyでは75％，horizontal supraglottic laryngectomyでは50％の治癒があると云われ今後の発展が期待されている。我々は全摘した喉頭癌の肉眼的，組織学的検討から部分切除の妥当性を感じ，少数ながらその経験があり，且気食総会のシンポジアムに参加する光栄によくしたので，その原稿に加筆してみた。

　Some experience in treatment of laryngeal cancer by partial Laryngectomy is reported. For prevention of strictures mucous membrane graft taken from the nasal septum is transplanted in the frontolateral laryngectomy. In horizontal supraglottic laryngectomy the hyoid bone and superior portions of the thyroid cartilage are removed in a contrasting way to prevent opening into the preepiglottic space. The anterior surface of the pharynx was primarily substituted by platysma and skin flaps.
