I．はじめに

　松果体部腫瘍は諸外国に比して，本邦に多いとされているが，脳腫瘍の中では稀な部類に属する．しかも，その大半はgerminomaであり，松果体そのものから発生した腫瘍は更に稀で，中でもpineocytomaの報告は少ない．

　Pineocytomaの1症例を経験し，この腫瘍の全摘を行って良好な結果が得られたので，若干の考察を加えて報告する．

A case of pineocytoma which is thought to be un-common is reported.

A 50-year-old man complaining of occasional dizzi-ness and tinnitus of the left ear was 'referred to our Center on Feb. 10, 1989. No noteworthy signs were de-tected out neurologically. Plain CT scan disclosed a homogeneous iso- to high- density area in the pineal re-gion, which was markedly enhanced on the post-contrast study. On the T1 MRI, that pineal tumor appeared as a low intensity area and on the T2, a high intensity area with intratumoral low signal intensity suggesting calcification.
