はじめに

　眼球運動は重要な神経学的徴候の一つであるが，1959年，Fisherは，重篤な橋障害を有する患者でみられた特異な眼球運動に対してocular bobbingという名称を初めて用い，ついで1964年，彼はこの問題を詳細に報告した^1）。その後ocular bobbingに関する論文が多数発表され^2〜9），わが国においても最近数多くの症例が報告されているが，ここではすでに発表されている文献に自験例を加え，ocular bobbingの総説を試みることにする。

Ocular bobbing is a term first used by Fisher (1959) to describe distinctive, abnormal, sponta-neous eye movements occurring in comatose pa-tients with advanced pontine disease. Since then, several papers have been reported and further defined the clinical spectrum of ocular bobbing.

Fisher (1964) divided the movement into typical and atypical cases, whilst Susac et al. (1970) classified it into three types; typical, monocular and atypical bobbing. In this paper, it was divid-ed into typical and atypical ocular bobbing ac-cording to Fisher.
