　経尿道的手術後の尿道狭窄発症予防のための術前処置について検討した。金属ブジーのみにて十分に尿道拡張した群では163例中狭窄37例（22.7％），全例にOTIS内尿道切開した群201例中7例（3.5％），切除鏡と尿道との間に十分な余裕がないもののみに内尿道切開した群117例中3例（2.6％）であった。OTIS内尿道切開は全例に施行する必要は必ずしもなく，使用切除鏡の2番手上のブジーに抵抗のある症例にのみ使用することで十分である。また金属ブジーによる十分（過剰）な尿道拡張はかえって尿道狭窄の発症率を高めている可能性が示唆された。

Preoperative three urethral dilatation methods performed separately to prevent post-TUR urethral strictures were studied. First method was aggresive dilation of urethra by metal sound, second method with Otis' urethrotomy in all cases and third with urethrotomy only in the cases of small caliber urethra. The occurrence of postoperative strictures were 37 of 163 (22.7%) in the first method. 7 of 201 (3.5%) in the second and 3 of 117 (2.6%) in the third. We have emphasized the preventional effect of ureth-rotomy in all cases of TUR but this study shows no significant defference between the second and the third method.
